RIA
Rich Internet Application (RIA) is an application that run in a browser. These applications are similar to usual programs, the difference is that they don't need installation, and data processing is server-side.
AJAX , Adobe Flash , Adobe Flex technologies are used to create RIA applications.
Advantages:
- Cross-platform – doesn't matter what OS and browser you use;
- No installation – you only need to enter address in a browser;
- No version update – you always use the latest version;
- Advanced safety and security . There are no viruses in RIA;
- Automatic data synchronization . Data is saved server-side. You may use it from anywhere in the world.
Disadvantages:
- Network connection dependency;
- Dynamic content is not indexed by search engines.
