Flex

Flex – an Adobe technology, similar to Adobe Flash. Flex-applications are the same swf-files, Adobe Flash Player compatible, but still Flex has some differences that make it a powerful tool in creation of web applications.

You may want to use Flex if you need to create rich interface with multimedia capabilities. Flash best suites when you need to create animation, graphics and light applications.

Flex has usable framework, that includes all required elements, effects, and - what is most important - mark-up language MXML + CSS. It makes it easy to configure application layout.
